Lifting the veil on condo management

Downtown residents are well-served by a network of social, neighborhood and special interest groups but there’s been a gap when it comes to connecting on the unique mechanics of running a home in the middle of a metropolis.

Enter Seattle Condo Connection a website devoted to maintaining “healthy, vibrant condo communities” with a focus on collaborative engagement.

Created by Belltown resident Steve Horvath, Condo Connection is an outgrowth of his mission to empower downtown dwellers with a tool to compare notes on nuts and bolts issues like dues, insurance, governance docs, management companies and vendors.

Horvath says the site is another effort to help neighbors break through information silos, similar to the Seattle Crime Awareness and Prevention Network, launched last year.

In a season filled with annual HOA meetings, the Condo Connection is kicking off 2021 with a timely Seattle Condo Questionnaire that tackles practical if less glamorous issues to downtown property management.

Recognizing participation may rely on confidentiality, Horvath says participants will remain anonymous and results are based on the size and neighborhood of the association to provide context. Results will only be provided to the individuals who answer the survey for use by their association.
